The Platform integrates third-party providers, including:
- AWS (RDS/Postgres, S3 storage)
- OpenAI (AI models)
- ElevenLabs (voice AI)
- Recall.ai (recording infrastructure)
- Stripe (payments)
- Resend (communications)
4. Practice Tool Only; No Employment or Academic Guarantee
Steo.ai is provided solely as a practice and educational tool.
You acknowledge that:
- Steo.ai is NOT a recruiting service
- Steo.ai is NOT an employer or hiring agent
- Steo.ai does NOT evaluate candidates for real employment decisions
We do NOT guarantee:
- job placement
- interview success
- hiring outcomes
- academic performance
All feedback is:
- simulated
- AI-generated
- for practice purposes only
5. AI-Generated Output Disclaimer
AI Output:
- may be inaccurate, incomplete, or biased
- is generated by probabilistic models
It does NOT constitute:
- professional advice
- hiring decisions
- academic evaluation
You are solely responsible for how you use AI Output.
6. No Automated Decision-Making (EU Compliance)
Steo.ai does NOT make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
All outputs are assistive only and require human interpretation.
7. Recording, Monitoring & Biometric Consent
By using the Platform, you explicitly consent to:
- recording of audio, video, and text interactions
- storage in AWS S3
- processing by AI systems
Biometric Data
We may process:
- voice patterns
- facial expressions
- behavioral signals
This data is used ONLY for:
- interview simulation
- feedback generation
We do NOT:
- sell biometric data
- use it for identity verification or surveillance
8. FERPA Compliance (Educational Use)
For use by educational institutions:
Steo.ai operates in alignment with the
Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act.
- Steo.ai acts as a “school official” with legitimate educational interest, where applicable
- We process student data only:
- under institutional authority
- for educational purposes
We do NOT:
- use student data for advertising
- disclose student records without authorization
Institutions are responsible for:
- obtaining required consents
- ensuring FERPA compliance
9. User Accounts
You are responsible for:
- maintaining account confidentiality
- all activity under your account

- suspend or terminate accounts

10. Acceptable Use Policy
You agree NOT to:

- replicate or benchmark the platform

Hiring misuse
- use the platform in discriminatory ways
- violate employment or education laws
11. Intellectual Property
Steo.ai owns:
- all software
- AI models
- platform design
- algorithms
You are granted a limited, non-transferable license to use the Platform.
12. User Content
You retain ownership of your content.
You grant Steo.ai a:
- worldwide
- non-exclusive
- royalty-free license
to:
- process and analyze content
- provide services
- improve the platform using anonymized data
13. Data Usage for AI Training
We may use:
- anonymized
- aggregated
- de-identified data
to improve models.
We do NOT use personal data for training without legal basis or consent.
14. Feedback
Any feedback you provide:
